Laziness Kills Profits!

During August and September I was pretty much on top of my horse notes and every now and then I would get a nice win that came as a direct result of the information that I had compiled. Now for some strange reason it felt as though we were coming to the end of the flat season and I became really lazy on my notes, well to be honest I pretty much stopped watching the replays. It's no co-incidence that I haven't had any decent wins for quite a few weeks!

Now saying that I became lazy is probably not 100% true as I've still been hitting the gym most mornings, I suppose it's just that my time to watch the replays the following morning became limited due to the much earlier start times and it's hard to do your trading and then watch the replays in the evening.

So the flat season rolled-on, albeit at a slower pace, and I was finding that my notes were becoming increasingly out-of-date and therefore not much help. Now I told myself that I would start again on 01/11 but as I type this it's already 06/11 and I still haven't started watching the fucking replays!! So as from tomorrow things are going to change and I'm going to get back into the boring process of watching the replays and hopefully increase my chance of getting that odd biggish win every now and then ...

01/11

+£239.61. I've mentioned before that the beauty of updating my blog a few days after the event is that I tend to forget the good winning days. I didn't even realise that I'd won over £200 so it's a nice surprise when you look back a few days and see a nice win ...

02/11

-£43.47. The added beauty of the above is that you don't have to dwell on your losses on a day like today. The last race finishes, you realise that you have lost, you sweep it under the carpet and move on. I'll then wait until my next good day and then update my blog again. it's a mental thing but it seems to work.

In fact I remember the race whee I lost over £100 and I think that I had a good entry point but the market just didn't move in my favour ...

03/11

-£28.09. Fortunately it's been pretty rare that I have 2 losing days in a row. Once again I started on the back foot by blowing £70+ in an early race and then it was always going to be an uphill struggle trying to get my cash back at Wolves, Kempton and Plumpton. The good thing is that my losses were minimal, but as I've mentioned previously it still gets on my tits and starts to dent my confidence.

04/11

-£17.19. Now 3 losing days in a row is starting to take the piss!

It looked as though I was at least going to get a small winning day and then I lost £50+ backing a 1.01 loser @ Kempton!!

05/11

+£166.25. Finally a winning day hurrah!

06/11

+£122.13 ...... and another one ... double hurrah!

07/11

+£121.54. A steady day without a single losing race! They're the kind of days that I like!!

08/11

+£101.61. A pretty steady day ...

09/11

Hangover = ouch!

10/11

+£2.56. I don't think that I had quite recovered from Saturday night's beerfest! I recovered my early loss and then hit the sack!

11/11

+£72.11. Another steady midweek day with a few small wins ...

12/11

+£97.77. Another day where a few small wins added up to a relatively OK amount ...

13/11

-£16.14. Had a fucking hopeless start to the day and felt like giving up! Nicked a few quid back and then quit as I was going out again in the evening for a few beers with some old colleagues.

14/11

+£58.42. A pretty unspectacular effort today ...

15/11

+£92.01. Almost made it into 3 figures!

16/11

+£96.87. It seems that recently my results have been pretty similar in that I'm nicking a few quid here and there and not really going anywhere fast ...

17/11

+£54.25. Wolves, Plumpton and Leicester today .... enough said!! ....

18/11

+£69.86. More ATR dross today and a mixed bag of results ...

19/11

+£159.21. Had another day where a few medium sized wins soon added up to an OK amount bearing in mind we're mid November.

20/11

+£119.12. A nice early win in the good old place market pretty much made the day. Other than that it was kind of steady but unremarkable.

21/11

+£166.66. It's REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING when you sit here and update a week's worth of posts and then the poxxy wank internet PC fucks up and they all disappear AGGHH!

So in summary a good evening kind of made the day ...

22/11

-£181.16. A couple of bad trades where I took big prices and then the market quickly went against me leaving me to scramble about furiously to save anything that I could!

23/11

+£35.33. Sunday and one of the tracks was miles behind live on BF video so after yesterday any kind of profit was a bonus ...

24/11

+£89.35. Only a handful of trades today but all winners!

25/11

Didn't trade today as I spent most of the day driving around sarf London .... see 01/12.

26/11

+£43.64. After yesterday's fiasco (see my vid on 01/12 for explanation) sitting here all day for £40 seemed like a good deal!

27/11

Well today I fucked off to France with my missus, dad and his partner. We had a fantastic lunch in Wimereux, strolled along the promenade and generally had a great time!

28/11

+£234.16. A much better day today with some nice early wins. Looked as though I was heading towards £300+ and then fucked-up late on at Dundalk doh!

29/11

+£46.52 It was a pretty dissapointing Saturday today. I'm not too sure why I was crap ... but I was!

30/11

+£42.35. I kind of meandered my way through the day today and didn't spot any great opportunities so once again any profit was taken with open arms.

Wolverhampton .... Arrrggghhh!

How To Completely Waste Two and a Half Hours of Your Life Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday Night

Is it just me or is it fucking impossible to trade in-running at Wolverhampton these days? We have had quite a few evening meetings there recently, but until last night I couldn't quite understand exactly what the fuck was happening?

This is how I feel each time I try to trade a race at Wolves! In fact I've pretty much stopped trying to play IR in the win market and have returned solely to the place market just to try and nick a few quid here and there!

So last night I thought to myself  'let's just sit and watch the IR betting activity in the win market and see what happens'. It's much easier to have a clear view of what is happening when you are not actually trading. Well I couldn't believe just how low the liquidity has sunk! For anything other than the top 2 or 3 there was just the odd £5 or £10 sitting in the queue on both sides! Now I've been playing for £150 a click and this is small fry on a  'normal' race but for Wolves it's just way too fucking big .... I'm really shocked!! I know that liquidity is down but this is a fucking joke! How on earth can the track players keep their heads above water when there is fuck all to be hoovered?

I'm going to keep a close eye on the markets over the next few days so that I can really see how bad things have become, especially at gaffs like Wolves and Dundalk.

09/10

+£112.83. Another steady day that wasn't really helped by the shite markets at Wolves in the evening (see above!)

10/10

+£73.82. Another unspectacular day that once again presented limited opportunties due to the fact that we had Wolves & Dundalk in the evening which are pretty much both dead in the water as far as playing in the win market are concerned!

11/10

+£157.82. A steady Saturday. I suppose that I should always be gunning for £500+ on Saturdays but it's a bit harder now that we are out of the summer months where there is much more on offer.

12/10

+£132.83. The racing on a Sunday can be so fucking depressing at this time of the year. It's usually shit wanky racing with low liquidity and no option of maybe nicking a few quid in the evening.

The tedium was only alleviated by a good win in an early race ... the rest of the day I was bored shiteless!!

13/10

Good old Betfair was totally fucked today and to be honest I was quite HAPPY as I really couldn't be bothered ...

14/10

+£82.32. Another day of banging my head against the wall trying to trade ATR tracks like Newcastle and Leicester!! Once again it was pretty boring and on days like this it's hard to keep the commitment and concentration high. Sometimes I just prefer to do the washing and/or washing-up instead of trying to trade when you're a mile behind the track and live pic players.

15/10

+£2.76. I had a hospital appointment right in the middle of the day so I was allowed out of the house for a few hours! Luckily I managed to get back in time for Kempton and almost won £3!!

16/10

-£38.69. The obligatory losing day today!

I wasn't going anywhere fast and then had 2 small losing races. I persevered with Wolverhampton but as you can see I obviously didn't have a clue as to what the fuck was going on!

17/10

+£150.99. As I thought .... the IR win market at Wolverhampton in the evening is officially fucked!! There's peanuts being matched during the race and if you hold on too long you're going to be screwed by the track or fast pic boys. We're all DOOMED!!

As mentioned before I'd probably be better served going out on the piss on Friday evenings! If I lived down in Ramsgate then I'd be out most nights as there is a fair selection of different pubs. The boozers around here are few and far between and generally shite, so normally I can't be bothered.

18/10

+£106.26. A steady day followed by another effort at Wolverhampton which didn't quite work out! Call me mad but I'll persevere until I find a way of winning some cash there even though the liquidity is pants!!

19/10

+£163.95. Quite possibly a world record for a Sunday!

20/10

+£70.89. Had a good start to the day and then seized up like a rusty old engine!

21/10

+£69.92. Scratching around for a few crumbs on a pretty boring Tuesday ...

22/10

+£24.40. Not much that can be said about today ...

23/10

+£58.44. I lost the best part of £100 early doors so I did quite well to get back in front for the day. I still find that every now and then I make a silly mistake and this usually involves not reading the race correctly, normally in the first few furlongs. The good thing is that it's very easy to spot where I went wrong, so it's not too hard to correct the bad habits.

24/10

+£121.84. I had an early loss of almost £50 and then had an unblemished day so it was good to get back into 3 figure territory ...

25/10

+£177.83. I had a good steady start to the day, traded planty of races and even won some money at Wolverhampton!

26/10

+£82.00. Strangely enough it didn't feel like a typical Sunday today. OK, I didn't set any records but it felt quite busy and I quite enjoyed the trading today.

27/10

+£44.19. An early start and an early finish today! I managed to drop £60 in an early race so once again did kind of OK to get back in front, albeit for small money.

28/10

+£73.00. Another pretty unspectacular day where I just chipped away a few pennies here and there ...

29/10

-£12.55. I find that even the smallest losing day gets right on my tits! To be fair I wasn't going anywhere fast but it's still a pain in the ass when you lose your day's winnings in the penultimate race of the evening doh!

30/10

+£147.73. A much better day today. As I have mentioned before it only takes a few medium sized wins to make an OK day.

31/10

+£91.07. Had a poorish start to the day but then managed to scramble back to just under £100 ...

The sun is hanging on in there!

So that was a pretty good Summer weatherwise wasn't it? I managed to get away to the coast quite a few times and a good time was had by all! In fact it seemed to go pretty quickly, although it has to be said that we're clinging on to a nice bit of weather, so hopefully that makes the winter months a bit shorter and therefore maybe a bit more bearable?

And I always remember to pack my suncream, unlike this poor fucker who must have hurt like crazy!!

As I type it's only 10 weeks to the shortest day, and then we start heading into the summer again yeehah!!

Unfortunately we're now heading into the gloomy winter months where it gets fucking cold, miserable and the racing is generally threadbare (although I know that a few out there much prefer the NH).

To be quite honest I don't really have any plans for the winter months so I need to get my arse in gear and set a few goals. In fact that last statement is a load of bollox! I know that I want to get myself in great physical shape, do more reading, practice more on the guitars and maybe even do some general DIY tasks that I've had on the back burner for months/years. I just need to get myself a bit more organised ...

01/10

+£96.13. Another day where most of the profit came from two races on RUK

02/10

+£112.13. It's always good to get into three figure territory, especially at this time of the year where the racing is starting to become a bit thin on the ground. I only managed to trade a handful or races so the result wa OK'ish ...

03/10

+£101.96. Had one of those days today where I was slightly behind after about 3 hours of doing practically nothing. Then fortunately a couple of medium sized wins saw the total go just over £100.

04/10

+£199.50. Just another one of those ideal nice steady days where the profits soon add-up. These are the sort of days that I aim for and with a slightly increased entry point I could easily hit £500+.

05/10

-£33.33. It's always disappointing when you have a losing day although as stated before they are going to happen and the main thing is to keep them low. It was a Sunday and I traded fuck-all races so it wasn't an enire surprise really ...

06/10

+£60.39. A pretty boring Monday (and there's 5 more months of those to come) and I suppose that the only real positive was that I covered yesterday's small loss ...

07/10

+£153.28. I had a rare clean sweep today with no losses! This really does make a difference as you feeel more comfortable as you are trading and I suppose that you feel 'in the zone'. I probably only traded half of the amount of races that I was trading on a typical day in the summer months so I suppose that £100+ is not such a shabby figure for when there are less opportunities.?

08/10

+£17.62. A very peculiar day today where I started quite well and then managed to give it all back in the late afternoon and early evening! I don't think that I took my eye off the ball and it was probably just a case of running into a few trades that didn't go my way? As my missus mentioned 'winning £17 is better than losing £17!'.
