I'm generally a backer as my entry point as that limits my loss to my stake and therefore doesn't leave me sitting there crapping my pants if the market moves against me and leaving me open to a big loss, as if I'd layed something at big odds.

Cheers - Dave.TraderDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02141639836109587785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831774268296831696.post-65970890915874265532013-12-10T23:43:42.190+00:002013-12-10T23:43:42.190+00:00Hi Steven.

I should really be looking to up this to £50-£200. Hope this helps.

Cheers - Dave.
TraderDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02141639836109587785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831774268296831696.post-85023520107387557092013-12-10T22:54:49.740+00:002013-12-10T22:54:49.740+00:00Hi Dave hope you are well .. Can I ask what stakes you're using in the win market in running?

Regards
Steven stevo17https://www.blogger.com/profile/02986011693300624368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831774268296831696.post-1514612580163598902013-12-10T10:09:53.155+00:002013-12-10T10:09:53.155+00:00Dave, good morning, re win market and prices, I ha...Dave, good morning, re win market and prices, I have an opinion that I sometimes use myself to lay horses. Some of these market overreactions are unexplainable to my eyes, as the price seems to drop unrealistically low way too early in a race. This then presents an opportunity to lay, as you can lay a horse at say 2-1 when it has an SP of 5-1 and has only jumped 3 fences out of say 12.

For example (and you see this everyday), a horse goes off at say 2-1 fav, front runner, jumps the first 3 flights well and that horse is now say evens in some cases. You now are laying a horse at even money when it is a 2-1 chance. If somebody offered you even money to lay every 2-1 chance, you would bite their hand off I am sure. The odds are in your favour and long term you cannot lose if you are constantly laying under the true odds of each horse winning. This of course not an exact science and that even money can then go down to 1.7, 1.5 and the horse never gets headed, but as you noted, these price spikes are regular events and maybe just the market correcting itself to what the true odds should be so early in a race.

That's my theory anyway, as some of these front runners, especially favourites, are massively overbacked so early in a race, even over longer trips and therefore make it attractive to layers at a false price.

That's my two penneth worth anyway!!

Have a good day. More absolute dire racing today. Cheers, SteveAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15163803933505366160noreply@blogger.com
